Buttekha (“the App”) is provided by DELV PTY LTD (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect through the App, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.

Information we collect

The App is designed to work without requiring you to create an account. However, to provide and improve the ripeness-detection feature, we collect the following data each time you use it:

• Audio recordings. When you tap a watermelon, the App records a short audio clip of the tap.
• Photographs. When you photograph a watermelon, the resulting image is stored.
• Prediction metadata. The verdict (ripe / not ripe), the confidence score, and (if you provide it) your feedback on whether the verdict was correct.
• Anonymous user identifier. A randomly generated identifier issued by Firebase Authentication that lets us group sessions from the same device without identifying you personally.

We do not collect: your name, email, phone number, location, contacts, device identifiers other than the anonymous ID above, or any data from other apps on your device.

How we use this information

• To run the ripeness analysis on each watermelon you scan.
• To improve the accuracy of our prediction model over time, by reviewing patterns in collected recordings and verdicts in aggregate.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We do not use it to track you across other apps or websites.

Where your data is stored

All collected data is stored in Google Firebase services (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Firebase Cloud Storage) operated by Google LLC. Servers are located in the United States (us-central1 region). Google’s processing of this data is governed by Google’s privacy policy.

How long we keep it

Audio recordings, photographs, and session metadata are retained for analysis purposes. You may request deletion of all data associated with your anonymous identifier at any time (see below).

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of any data we hold linked to your anonymous identifier.
• Request deletion of all data linked to your anonymous identifier.
• Withdraw consent for future data collection (uninstalling the App stops all future collection).

To exercise these rights, email privacy@delv.org with a request and the anonymous identifier you wish to act on.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the App and we should delete their data, contact privacy@delv.org.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the App. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change.
